Later, when she’d grown up a bit, she acquired a mad passion for travel. She backpacks around in search of delicious food (especially seafood), good beer, good friends, interesting architecture, street art, and conversations about life, the universe, and everything.
She has gotten lost climbing up abandoned sections of the Great Wall, eaten scorpion and tarantula in Beijing, been shouted at in the wee hours of the morning by military police on Tiananmen Square and by cycle-rickshaw drivers in Kathmandu, couchsurfed a warehouse in Hong Kong, been beaten at chess by a grandmother on the Trans-Siberian, flipped her motorbike down a hill in Cambodia, taught monks English in Laos, scuba dived amongst phosphorescent plankton at night, lived on an incredible island paradise in Cambodia with amazing friends, been carried off Khao San Road on a Saturday night, hitchhiked on ox-carts in India and Cambodia, driven an old US military jeep on the Ho Chi Minh trail in Vietnam, partied on the beaches of Goa, fallen in love in Nepal, ridden the toy-train in Darjeeling, and celebrated Mardi Gras in New Orleans more times than she can count.
What’s next? She’s got no idea.
